About this course

Business economics applies economic theory and analysis to the decisions that firms, managers, and financial specialists make in competitive markets. It asks why businesses behave the way they do, how they respond to changes in market conditions, how they set prices and allocate resources, and how macroeconomic forces shape the environment in which they operate. Unlike general economics programmes, business economics keeps the focus on the practical implications of economic thinking for business decision-making, making it particularly relevant for students who want to understand the commercial world through an analytical lens.
