Counselling approaches, social policy and inclusive practice all converge when the focus is on children, young people and families. These are among the most vulnerable populations in society, and the professionals who work with them need a combination of therapeutic skills, policy understanding and the ability to operate across different settings and systems, from schools and youth services to family support teams and child protection.
