Information technology is the discipline concerned with how computer systems, networks, databases and software applications are used to manage, process and communicate the information that organisations depend on. As organisations across every sector become more dependent on digital infrastructure to operate efficiently and effectively, the range of careers open to IT graduates has expanded significantly, spanning technical roles in systems administration, networking and software development through to management, consultancy and IT strategy. At the University of Derby, this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, a sandwich year, a year abroad and a work placement, giving you a comprehensive combination of academic preparation and professional experience.
