Politics and sociology is a combination that brings together two of the most essential frameworks for understanding how human societies are organised and how power operates within them. Politics examines who has political power, how they acquired it, and in whose interest they exercise it, investigating the institutions of government, the dynamics of political behaviour, and the competing ideologies that shape public life. Sociology examines the broader social structures, from class and race to gender and culture, that underpin political life and that shape the experiences of individuals and communities within it. Together, the two disciplines provide a comprehensive and critical account of contemporary society.
