Biomedical engineering applies engineering principles and methods to biology and medicine, creating technologies that transform healthcare. It is the discipline behind the diagnostic imaging equipment that reveals disease without surgery, the implantable devices that restore or replace failing physiological functions, the surgical tools that enable precision procedures, and the prosthetics that restore mobility. Biomedical engineers think like engineers but work in the complex, variable environment of living systems, requiring them to bridge the physical sciences and life sciences in a way that is both technically demanding and profoundly purposeful. At Dundee you will study this four-year full-time programme, with a year abroad available to broaden your engineering experience in an international context.
