About this course

Computing science with cyber security combines the foundations of computing with a specialist focus on the protection of digital systems, networks and data from attack. Computing science covers the theory and practice of software engineering, algorithms, data structures, systems architecture and programming. Cyber security adds to this a focused understanding of how vulnerabilities arise in computer systems, how attackers exploit them, and how defences are designed and implemented. In an era of persistent and sophisticated cyber threats, the ability to build and maintain secure systems is one of the most commercially valuable skills in technology. At the University of East Anglia, this four-year full-time programme includes a year in industry, giving you the opportunity to work in a computing or cyber security role and apply your skills in a professional context before you graduate.
