Mental health nursing is a profession that asks a great deal of its practitioners. It demands clinical knowledge, the capacity for empathetic and therapeutic engagement, professional judgement in complex and sometimes distressing situations, and a commitment to the dignity and autonomy of people experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
