Physiotherapy is the healthcare profession concerned with the assessment and treatment of physical problems arising from injury, illness, ageing, and disability. Physiotherapists work with patients across the full span of life, from infants with breathing difficulties to elderly patients recovering from strokes, helping them to restore movement, manage pain, and maintain or regain independence. The profession draws on anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, and its practitioners are integral members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams in hospitals, community settings, and specialist clinics.
