About this course

Primary education with Qualified Teacher Status is one of the most direct routes into a teaching career, qualifying you to teach children aged five to eleven across the full range of primary school subjects. Teaching at primary level is a demanding and deeply rewarding profession: it requires strong subject knowledge across multiple curriculum areas, an understanding of how children learn and develop at different ages, the ability to manage a classroom effectively, and the interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, families, and colleagues. It is also a profession of significant social importance, given the well-established connection between the quality of primary education and children's long-term outcomes.
