Adult nursing is the largest branch of the nursing profession and sits at the centre of health care in the UK. Adult nurses care for people from late adolescence onwards across a vast range of settings, including hospitals, community clinics, patients' own homes, care homes, and specialist units. The role demands clinical competence, careful judgement, and the ability to build trusting relationships with patients and families, often during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. It is a profession that combines scientific knowledge with genuine human care.
