Digital media, culture, and Africa and Black diaspora studies is a degree that brings together two fields of inquiry that are increasingly connected in the contemporary world. Digital media and culture examines how the internet, social media, streaming, and digital technologies have transformed the production, circulation, and consumption of culture, communication, and information. Africa and Black diaspora studies examines the histories, cultures, literatures, politics, and identities of the African continent and of African-descended communities around the world, engaging with the legacies of colonialism, the movements of people across the Atlantic and elsewhere, and the rich and diverse traditions of African and diasporic cultural production.
