About this course
Mechanical engineering is the discipline that designs, analyses, and builds the machines, systems, and structures that do work in the physical world. It encompasses thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, structural analysis, dynamics, and the design and manufacturing processes that bring concepts into reality. Subsea technology focuses this expertise on one of the most technically demanding environments on earth: the deep ocean, where offshore energy infrastructure, pipelines, ROVs, and subsea production systems must operate reliably under immense pressure, in corrosive conditions, and far from any possibility of easy maintenance or repair.
