About this course
Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry sits at the intersection of two of the most socially significant scientific fields: the broad science of matter and transformation that is chemistry, and the specialised discipline of designing and developing molecules that can be used as clinical drugs. Medicinal chemistry asks how chemical knowledge can be applied to address human disease, combining the synthesis and analysis of organic molecules with an understanding of how they interact with biological targets in the body. The discipline has produced some of the most important advances in modern medicine and continues to be central to drug discovery and pharmaceutical research. At the University of Keele, this three-year full-time programme is accredited and gives you a solid grounding in the core areas of chemistry, including organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry, while also provi
