About this course

Adult nursing is the largest branch of the nursing profession, concerned with the care and treatment of adults across the full range of health conditions, from acute illness and trauma to long-term conditions and palliative care. Nurses are at the front line of healthcare delivery, providing direct patient care, coordinating treatment plans, educating patients and families, advocating for patient needs and contributing to the evidence-based development of nursing practice. The role demands clinical competence, empathy, ethical judgement and the ability to work under pressure in complex, multidisciplinary environments. At Birmingham City University, this three-year full-time programme is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and prepares you for registration as an adult nurse.
