Sport and exercise science is the systematic study of the human body in the context of physical activity and sport, drawing on physiology, psychology, and biomechanics to understand, measure, and enhance performance and health. The discipline is relevant both to elite sport, where the science of performance can be decisive, and to the broader challenge of promoting physical activity and health across diverse populations, from rehabilitation settings to public health programmes.
