About this course

Cognitive science sits at the crossroads of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, computer science and artificial intelligence. Rather than studying the mind from a single disciplinary angle, it asks how thinking, perception, language and memory actually work by drawing on all of these fields together. The result is a genuinely unusual degree that trains you to move between formal models and experimental evidence, to hold a computational question alongside a philosophical one, and to evaluate competing theories of what it means to understand or to know something. At Newcastle you will explore the architecture of the mind from multiple directions.
