About this course
Computer science and mathematics is a combination that reflects the deep intellectual relationship between the two disciplines. Mathematics provides the formal foundations on which computing is built: logic, algebra, analysis, probability, and combinatorics all underpin the algorithms, systems, and theoretical results that computer scientists rely on. Computer science provides the practical and theoretical problems that motivate and apply mathematical thinking. Together, they produce graduates who can approach complex problems with unusual rigour and range. At Bath you will develop both disciplines to a high level across a four-year programme that takes the combination seriously rather than treating either subject as supplementary. Computer science study will cover algorithms, programming languages, software engineering, machine learning, and computer systems. Mathematics study will ext
