Multimedia journalism is journalism for the contemporary media environment, one in which stories are told across multiple platforms simultaneously and in which the skills of writing, video production, audio recording, photography, data visualisation and social media communication are no longer separate specialisms but interconnected tools in a single professional toolkit. The field is demanding precisely because it requires both the traditional journalistic virtues of accuracy, fairness, source management and editorial judgement and the technical capabilities to deliver stories in formats that audiences now expect.
