About this course

Psychology and sociology are disciplines that examine human behaviour and social life from complementary angles. Psychology focuses on the individual, asking how people think, feel, learn, and relate to others, and using experimental and clinical methods to build an evidence base for those questions. Sociology takes a broader view, examining how social structures, institutions, inequalities, and cultural forces shape the conditions in which individuals live and act. Studying them together gives you a richer and more complete picture of social life than either discipline alone could provide, and it develops a particularly valuable combination of micro-level psychological insight and macro-level sociological analysis.
