About this course

Coaching and developing sport is the discipline concerned with how sports coaches work with athletes and teams to improve performance, wellbeing, and participation. It draws on exercise science, psychology, pedagogy, and sports management, asking not only how physical performance is developed but how coaches create environments in which individuals and groups can thrive, learn, and sustain their engagement with sport over time. Good coaching is as much about communication, relationship-building, and ethical practice as it is about technical knowledge of a particular sport, and this degree takes that breadth seriously.
