Mechatronic engineering is an integrated discipline that brings together mechanical engineering, electronics, computing, and control systems to design and build intelligent machines and automated systems. The name reflects the subject's core ambition: to treat the mechanical and the electronic not as separate concerns but as a unified whole, enabling the design of systems, such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, smart manufacturing equipment, and biomedical devices, that could not be achieved by any one discipline alone.
