Physics with Space Science is a degree for students whose curiosity about the physical world extends from fundamental principles to the vast scales of the cosmos. Space science encompasses the study of planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe itself, as well as the technologies that allow us to observe and explore it. From satellite design and orbital mechanics to space weather and the search for exoplanets, it is a field that combines rigorous physical theory with extraordinary engineering and observational challenges. At the University of Southampton you will study across four years on an MPhys programme, the integrated masters level that reflects the depth and rigour of this route. You will build from the essentials of classical and modern physics, including mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum theory, and relativity, before specialising in astronomical and space science content.
