Product design is the discipline that creates the objects and systems that people use in their daily lives, combining the creative imagination of the designer with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to bring ideas to physical reality. It is a field that demands both aesthetic sensitivity and analytical rigour, asking designers to research user needs, develop concepts, prototype and test solutions and work through the material and manufacturing realities of actual production.
