Civil engineering provides the technical expertise behind the infrastructure on which daily life depends: transport networks, flood defences, water supply and treatment, bridges, tunnels, and the urban environments that house and connect billions of people. At the University of Salford, the BEng Civil Engineering is a three-year full-time programme that includes a sandwich year and work placement, ensuring that you graduate with both a rigorous academic qualification and genuine professional experience in the field. As the current description notes, the aim is to produce engineers who can successfully plan, manage, and implement major civil engineering projects. The degree develops the technical foundation that civil engineering practice requires. You will study structural mechanics, soil mechanics, hydraulics and water engineering, materials science, and the mathematical analysis tools
