About this course

Electronic engineering addresses the design and development of the circuits, systems and devices that process and communicate information, from the microelectronics in a smartphone to the radar systems in an aircraft and the power electronics that connect renewable energy to the grid. At Durham University, this four-year full-time degree is taught within a research-intensive environment and incorporates a sandwich year, a year abroad and a work placement, making it one of the most comprehensively structured engineering degrees available in the UK. The combination of rigorous academic training and extended professional exposure prepares graduates for the full range of electronic engineering roles at the highest levels. You will build a strong foundation in circuit theory, electromagnetism, signal processing and digital systems before progressing to more advanced topics including communic
