About this course

Film encompasses an extraordinary range of creative, critical, and professional practices. At one end it is an art form with a history of a century and a quarter, producing works of enduring cultural significance. At the other it is an industry, encompassing production, distribution, exhibition, archiving, criticism, and an ever-growing array of digital and online content. Studying film means engaging with both dimensions: developing the ability to analyse and interpret moving images critically, and building the practical skills to participate in the industries that make them.
