About this course

Sport and exercise science is the systematic study of the biological, physiological, psychological, and biomechanical factors that determine human physical performance and the health effects of exercise. It draws on anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, psychology, and biomechanics to understand how the human body responds and adapts to training, how athletic performance can be optimised, and how exercise can be used to promote health across the lifespan. It is both a fundamental science and an applied discipline with direct relevance to elite sport and public health. At Bangor University, this three-year full-time programme includes an integrated foundation year that provides a solid scientific and academic grounding before you advance to the full degree.
