Sports journalism is a specialism within journalism that covers one of the world's most followed cultural phenomena: sport in all its professional, amateur, and community forms. Journalists working in this field cover everything from match reports and breaking news through to investigative pieces on governance, finance, and the social impact of sport, producing content for print, online, television, radio, and the growing range of digital and social platforms that now carry sports media. The specialism requires both the core journalistic skills of gathering information, verifying facts, and writing under deadline pressure, and a deep knowledge of sport as a commercial, cultural, and political domain. At the University of Lincoln, this three-year full-time programme is industry-accredited and designed to develop the full range of core journalistic skills in the context of sports coverage
