Architectural engineering is the discipline that ensures buildings not only look right but work right. It sits at the intersection of architectural thinking and the full range of engineering disciplines that determine how buildings function, including structural engineering, mechanical and electrical services, environmental systems, acoustics, fire engineering and sustainable technologies. As buildings become more complex and the expectations around energy performance and environmental impact become more demanding, the professionals who can think across these systems while also understanding architectural intent are increasingly essential.
