It encompasses strategy, finance, marketing, operations, human resources, and organisational behaviour, asking how businesses and other organisations can be structured and directed to achieve their goals. Effective management requires both analytical rigour and interpersonal skill, and degree-level study in business management develops both, alongside an awareness of the ethical, legal, and social contexts in which organisations operate.
