Common Law and Spanish Language is a combination that develops two very different but complementary sets of intellectual and practical skills. The Common Law strand provides a rigorous grounding in legal analysis, theory and comparative legal systems, developing the ability to read legal texts with precision, construct well-reasoned legal arguments and understand how law functions across different jurisdictions. It is important to note that the Common Law LLB at Glasgow is not accredited by the Law Society of Scotland and is therefore not designed for students who wish to practise law in Scotland. Spanish language study adds a second major dimension, developing linguistic fluency and cultural understanding in one of the world's most widely spoken and culturally significant languages.
