Construction management is the discipline concerned with the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects, from individual buildings to large infrastructure schemes. It sits at the intersection of technical engineering knowledge and the management skills needed to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects that must be delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. Construction managers are responsible for making those outcomes happen, managing contractors, coordinating specialists, handling risk, and keeping projects on track through the inevitable complications that arise.
