Engineering with renewable energy addresses one of the defining challenges of the twenty-first century: how to generate, store, and deliver the energy that modern societies require without the carbon emissions that are driving climate change. Renewable energy engineering draws on the principles of electrical, mechanical, and electronic engineering and applies them to technologies such as wind, solar, tidal, hydropower, and grid storage, requiring engineers who understand both the technical fundamentals of energy conversion and the systems challenges of integrating variable renewable sources into existing and future energy infrastructure.
