Mathematics is the language in which the universe is written, as Galileo famously observed, and it remains the foundation on which science, technology, economics, engineering and data science all rest. Studying mathematics at university is not simply about learning more techniques; it is about developing the capacity for rigorous logical reasoning, abstract thinking and precise problem-solving that defines the discipline.
