About this course

Music production is the craft and technology behind recorded sound. It encompasses the entire journey from initial idea to finished track: composing and arranging, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, as well as the technical understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and the software and hardware tools that make modern music. Where performance is about what happens in the room, music production is about what gets captured, shaped, and released into the world, and the two have become increasingly intertwined as the line between studio and stage continues to blur. At Nottingham Trent University, this three-year full-time programme develops your skills across the full spectrum of contemporary music production.
