Post-production for film and television is the phase of filmmaking and broadcasting that takes place after cameras stop rolling, and it is where the creative and technical work of editing, visual effects, motion graphics, colour grading and sound design transforms raw footage into finished content. Post-production professionals are essential to every film, television drama, documentary, advertisement and digital video that reaches an audience, and the demand for skilled specialists in this area has grown significantly as the volume of content produced for streaming platforms, broadcast and online channels has expanded. At Southampton Solent, this three-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing an extended route into the degree for students who need additional academic preparation.
