About this course
Business computing sits at the junction of two fields that, taken separately, each have significant value, but together produce something more powerful than either alone. Computing equips you with the technical skills to build, analyse and manage digital systems; business gives you the strategic and operational frameworks to understand why those systems matter and how to deploy them effectively in organisations. The combination is particularly relevant at a time when technology decisions are inseparable from business decisions in almost every sector. At the University of the West of England in Bristol this three-year full-time programme includes a sandwich year, giving you the opportunity to spend time in a professional placement before completing your studies. This practical dimension is central to the course's design: the aim is not simply to produce graduates with technical knowledge
