About this course
Electronic and computer engineering sits at the boundary where the physical world of circuits, signals and hardware meets the logical world of algorithms, software and computing systems. Electronics provides the physical infrastructure on which all digital systems depend, from the silicon at the heart of a processor to the radio circuits that carry wireless communications, while computer engineering addresses how those physical components are programmed, interconnected and organised to perform useful computation. Together they describe the engineering knowledge needed to design and build the intelligent, connected systems that define contemporary technology.
