About this course
Mathematics with finance applies the rigour and precision of pure and applied mathematics to the analysis of financial systems, investment, risk and economic decision-making. Mathematics provides the theoretical and quantitative foundations: analysis, linear algebra, probability, statistics, differential equations and optimisation, all of which underpin the models that modern finance uses to price assets, manage risk and allocate capital. Finance applies these tools to real markets, portfolios, derivatives, interest rates and the complex financial instruments that characterise contemporary global capital markets.
