Interior Design is the discipline concerned with creating interior spaces that are functional, aesthetically considered, and responsive to the needs of the people who inhabit them. It is a field that combines spatial thinking, material knowledge, colour and lighting theory, and the history and theory of design with the practical ability to move from concept to specification to realised space. Interior designers work across residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and public sector projects, shaping the environments in which people live, work, shop, and spend their leisure time.
