About this course

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and manual treatment concerned with the relationship between the structure of the body and its function. Osteopaths work to restore and maintain health by identifying and treating restrictions in movement, muscular tension, and the mechanical dysfunctions that can contribute to pain and reduced function across the musculoskeletal system and beyond. The discipline takes a whole-person approach to healthcare, recognising that the body's systems are interconnected and that improving structural function can have effects that extend beyond the immediate site of complaint. At Anglia Ruskin University, you can study osteopathy on a part-time basis, covering the same curriculum as full-time students but progressing through the programme in a different order or across different years, allowing you to balance study with other commitments.
