Paramedic science is the study and practice of urgent and emergency healthcare delivered outside hospital, in the moments when rapid, skilled assessment and intervention can make the difference between life and death. Paramedics work in some of the most demanding and unpredictable clinical environments in healthcare, drawing on deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology alongside the procedural skills to act decisively under pressure.
