About this course

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with maximising physical movement and function across the lifespan. Physiotherapists assess and treat people whose mobility, strength or comfort has been affected by injury, illness, surgery or long-term conditions, using techniques that range from exercise and manual therapy to breathing retraining and neurological rehabilitation. They work across a wide range of clinical environments, from acute hospitals and community clinics to sports medicine settings and patients' own homes, and they play a central role in helping people recover from and manage a diverse array of physical and long-term health conditions. At the University of Cumbria this three-year full-time degree leads to registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, which you will achieve on graduation by meeting the HCPC's standards for entry to the register.
