Bioengineering with a Foundation Year
BEng · Loughborough University · 4 years
About this course
Bioengineering applies the principles and methods of engineering to the study and design of biological systems, and to the development of devices and technologies that interact with living organisms. It is a discipline that connects the mathematical and physical rigour of engineering with the complexity and creativity of biology, and it is driving some of the most exciting and consequential developments in modern medicine and biotechnology, from implantable devices and artificial organs to diagnostic systems, prosthetics, and regenerative medicine. At Loughborough University this four-year, full-time programme with a foundation year is designed primarily for students who have not studied all the prerequisite subjects for direct first-year entry, who have not met their expected entrance requirements due to adverse situations or prior sporting commitments, or who are mature students retur
