About this course
Business and sustainability is a degree that addresses one of the defining challenges of our era: how to build and run organisations that create economic value without depleting the environmental and social foundations on which all value ultimately depends. Conventional business education has focused primarily on profit, competitive advantage and shareholder returns. The sustainability perspective broadens this frame, asking how businesses can account for their full impacts on natural systems, communities and future generations, and how the transition to a more sustainable economy can be managed in ways that remain commercially viable. This part-time programme at the University of the West of Scotland is designed for those who want to develop business skills and knowledge alongside a genuine understanding of the sustainability challenges and opportunities that organisations now face.
