About this course
Film and media studies examines one of the most pervasive and culturally significant areas of contemporary life. Film has a history of more than a century as an art form, an industry and a cultural force; media more broadly encompasses television, journalism, digital platforms, social networks, advertising and the structures through which information and entertainment reach audiences at a global scale. Studying both together gives you the analytical frameworks to understand how media content is produced, distributed and consumed, and what it means for individuals, communities and societies. At the University of Keele this three-year full-time programme explores the social, cultural, political and economic aspects of media industries alongside hands-on training with industry-standard equipment and software.
