Geography is a discipline of exceptional breadth, spanning the physical processes that shape the earth's surface and the human geographies of economy, culture, politics and society that are distributed across it. What unites the two halves of the discipline is a concern with place, space and scale: how location matters, how environments and communities are interconnected, and how global processes play out differently in different places. At degree level, geography trains you in a wide range of research methods, from quantitative data analysis and mapping to ethnography and archival research, making graduates among the most methodologically versatile of any social and natural science.
