About this course

Marine biology is the study of life in the sea, one of the least understood and most extraordinary environments on earth. Ocean systems cover more than two thirds of the planet's surface, produce much of the oxygen we breathe, regulate our climate, and support biodiversity of almost incomprehensible richness. Marine biologists study organisms from microscopic plankton to the largest animals that have ever lived, investigating their physiology, behaviour, ecology, and the ways in which human activity is changing the marine environment.
