About this course

Musical theatre is a performing arts form that integrates singing, acting, and dance into a single unified storytelling experience. It demands versatility from its performers: you must be able to convey character and emotion through voice, body, and spoken word simultaneously, often under demanding physical and technical conditions. The tradition extends from classic Broadway and West End shows through to contemporary physical theatre, new writing, and experimental work that pushes the form in new directions. Training in musical theatre is intensive and holistic, covering the full range of performance skills alongside music theory, movement, and the history of the form. At the University of Bedfordshire, this three-year, full-time programme develops your performance skills through studio work, workshops, and productions that allow you to work across the range of musical theatre styles.
