Economics and data science is a degree that combines rigorous economic analysis with the methodological tools of modern data science, recognising that the most important economic questions today require both theoretical clarity and the ability to work with large, complex datasets. Economics provides the conceptual frameworks for understanding how markets, incentives and institutions shape human behaviour and social outcomes. Data science supplies the statistical, computational and machine learning methods needed to test economic theories, analyse policy interventions and extract patterns from the vast amounts of economic and social data now available.
